The Second Sunday after Epiphany

An exciting new adventure begins in our Shelburne Primrose Pastoral Charge, as our SPPC Quartet takes over temporary spiritual leadership on our website and with our Sunday Morning offerings.

Sabine Rohner-Tensee, Darlene Morrow, Jill McPherson, and Bruce Ley will be choosing worship services — both traditional and less traditional — for viewing or listening to on Sunday mornings as well as articles of interest, videos, podcasts, quotes, and links that help all of us engage with the world through the lens that our Christian faith, at its very best, encourages us to do. They will also keep you informed of upcoming events, news in the church family and the neighbourhood that is of interest.

Colin Simmons, the designer of our website, will receive their choices, post them on our website, and send out email correspondence and social media posts once a week.

If you have any feedback for the group concerning their choices, suggestions to offer them of things you find interesting, knowledge about events you think others would like to know about, or technical questions, please send them along.

The more you engage with this wonderful group, the more it will be of help to them, and to all of us wishing to experience our faith in our daily lives.

Service

Trinity Centennial United Church

Traditional Offering

Rev. Ann Harbridge, who ministers at Trinity Centennial United Church in Rosemont, our “sister church” creates a church service every week and uploads it to YouTube for her members and others to watch. Ann has always been available to help us over the years which has been wonderful. She is very active in our region, the Western Ontario Waterways.

Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you
— Isaiah 60:1

Dolly Parton

Alternative Offering

This is the season of Epiphany. Deep realizations can be found in the most interesting and unexpected places.

We may not be able to stop evil in the world, but how we treat one another is entirely up to us.
— Barack Obama

In this TED Talk, journalist Jad Abumrad explains how his interview with Dolly Parton led him to a profound realization that brought him a deeper sense of peace and connection with himself and his fellow human beings.
