The Fourth Sunday after the Epiphany

It is the winter solstice, a time of reclusion and contemplation. COVID-19 seems to almost be forcing us to follow the way of nature. Retreat and contemplate. We are also in the season of Epiphany, a time to receive profound realizations that shift our perceptions and hopefully our daily lives for the better.

As you sit at home during this time, consider using the videos, articles, images and music offered this week as a contribution to your contemplation practice.

Continue to be open to the wonders around and within, even amidst these challenging times.

Jill McPherson interviews Reverend Dr. Candice Bist

Contemporary

Religion: Where Do We Go From Here?

In 2016, Rev. Candice Bist sat down with Host, Jill McPherson on the set of her TV show, Awakening Within. The goal of the interview was to address some of those difficult questions within religion. For example:

  • Why are people leaving the church or choosing to not identify as religious?

  • Why do some say they spiritual but not religious?

  • What is it about our thinking that needs to change in order for us to not only benefit from belonging to religion, but to then use it to connect with others?

Check out this thought provoking discussion.

We are moving away from a hierarchal ways of thinking to a communion paradigm... We need to move into a place where we understand that we are all connected.
