24/7 Crisis support provides a timely and high-quality response to de-escalate, stabilize and support those in mental health and addiction crisis. The service is delivered in partnership with Peel Regional Police and the Caledon Ontario Provincial Police. This is for adults 16 years and older who are residents of Dufferin County and are experiencing a mental health or addiction crisis.

Crisis support is offered over the crisis line and in-person in Peel Region and Dufferin County. Crisis support is offered over the crisis line in West Woodbridge and North Etobicoke.
What are the major benefits?
24.7 Crisis Support Peel Dufferin is a voluntary community crisis service that is comprised of a team of crisis support workers who are registered social workers, nurses and occupational therapists. Individuals can call for direct support or to request help for someone they are concerned about. A crisis support worker will speak to you over the telephone to assess the nature of the crisis and to put a plan in place to ensure safety and support.
The program offers a continuum of crisis services:
ServiceDescription24/7Day time visitsEvening visitsCrisis LineFor individuals who require immediate crisis support. The line is answered by a crisis support worker who will assess the nature of the crisis and the level of risk and arrange the most appropriate response.
Outreach VisitsFor individuals who need a more in-depth mental health assessment and safety plan. Can be done by 2 crisis support workers or a crisis support worker and a specially-trained police officer in plain clothes and an unmarked car. Can take up to 24 hours to arrange.
Rapid ResponseTriggered by a live 911 call that involves a mental health or addiction crisis. Conducted by a crisis support worker and a uniformed officer in a police car (subject to availability.) A second uniformed officer will also attend in a second police car.
