Sparks
Sparks is a part of Girl Guide of Canada, a group designed to create a safe space for young women focusing on leadership skills and inclusivity.
Sparks is for girls ages 5 and 6.
In Sparks, girls have fun trying a bit of everything and begin discovering their individual skills, talents and interests. Girls will make new friends, start earning badges and getting to know what Guiding is all about.
Discovering the community through outings to places such as a fire station, a farmer's market or a neighbourhood landmark
Exploring the arts by making collages or creating a dance
Having fun preparing simple snacks
Discovering the outdoors on a nature scavenger hunt
Having sleepovers or going to a weekend camp
Throughout its history - over 100 years - Girl Guides of Canada–Guides du Canada (GGC) has prepared girls to meet the challenges that they face in their lives head on. Whether it was girls learning to bandage wounds during the First World War or girls today working on their anti-bullying badge, Guiding continually evolves to reflect the needs and interests of contemporary girls and women. Today, Guiding's innovative programming is helping the next generation of Canadian girls become confident, courageous and resourceful leaders.
Sparks takes place on Thursdays at 6:30 at Trinity United Church in the large room downstairs. For more information contact Aynsley Whitehouse at Aynsleyg@hotmail.com. (Currently on hold during the Cov-id 19 pandemic.)
