To Open or Not - Information, Survey, Newsletter
Both Primrose and Trinity have a small task force that has met to consider how and when the churches should reopen for communal worship. They have reviewed public health information as well as information received from our insurance provider.
The following are the protocols that would need to be in place for the churches to re open. These protocols will come to both councils when they meet at the end of August and the beginning of September for council approval. The boards will then consider if and when to reopen for in person worship.
Please read these protocols carefully.
Than click on the link to complete a survey. It is very short but important as it will also guide the councils in their decision making.
If / when we resume worship, we will require volunteers each Sunday to assist with screening and ushering. Please consider if you would be willing to help in these areas, and let Ann McAlpine or Gail Brown know.
We would like to have all the surveys done. by August 20th, as the task forces will be meeting to gather information to prepare a recommendation to their respective councils.
Protocols for in Person Worship
It won’t be church like we are used to!!
These protocols are based on direction from Public Health, Western Ontario Waterways Region and our Insurance Provider. They are for the safety of our congregation, visitors and staff, and will most likely be in place until a vaccine is available.
All those planning to attend church should review the health screening tool before attending church. Do not attend if you answer yes to any question! See screening tool below.
A screener will greet attendees in the parking lot to confirm that you have no symptoms
6 foot social distancing must be maintained at all times both outdoors and indoors. This includes the parking lot.
Attendance will be taken on entering the church and a list maintained of all present in case contact tracing is required at a later date.
Masks must be worn by all attendees
Hand sanitizer to be used on entering and leaving the church
You will keep coats and boots with you
An usher will seat you. We will seat participants from the front pews to the back, so you may not be able to sit in your usual spot. Families and social bubbles may be seated together. If so, you must enter the church together. Once seated, please do not leave your seat until the service is finished.
We will exit the church by having those at the back leave first. Seating and leaving is done in this way in order to minimize passing in the aisles, and allow us to use maximum seating capacity.
Assistance will be provided to those requiring the elevator or any other assistance.
If you wish to use a Bible, please bring your own.
There will be no singing.
There will be no handshaking or hugging
There will be no passing of the plate for tithes and offerings. A place will be organized to do so on arriving and leaving.
Communion will not be served in the foreseeable future
There will be no coffee/tea after church for the foreseeable future
Washrooms will not be available except in an emergency, so please use your bathroom at home before you come to church!
If we choose to have further outdoor gatherings at Primrose, all of the same protocols will be in place. In addition, you will be asked to bring your own chair. Masks and Social Distancing will still be in place.
