About the event

Robin DiAngelo coined the term “white fragility” in 2011 and wrote the book seven years later. The book and the author have taken important roles in the growth of a movement that began more than 30 years ago: one designed to raise White consciousness in support of racial justice. We explore both our inner and outer worlds, working to recognise racism and how it functions, to disrupt the impact of unconscious bias, to develop both courage and resilience—rather than fragility.

About the facilitator, LeeAnn McKenna:

When I first took a workshop on this topic 25 years ago, it was called “White People Undoing Racism”. Robin’s book, like the workshop, creates space for White people to address learning needs specific White people. I am an ordained minister and active in causes of peace and justice most of my adult life. I live in Mono Township and am part of the Shelburne-Primrose Pastoral Charge (UCC).
